Aletta®: A new blood draw experience
Aletta is a new method for everyone to have their blood drawn. Designed with the patient in mind, Aletta uses advanced technology to standardize the blood drawing process.
If you have ever experienced painful draws or multiple attempts to find a vein, Aletta offers an alternative that is designed to deliver a more predictable and gentle experience.
Aletta® is currently being used in clinical settings as part of a clinical trial (the A.D.O.P.T trial). If your hospital is participating, you may be invited to take part when you visit the blood draw department for your regular collection. Participation is always voluntary. If you agree, your blood will be drawn using Aletta and processed as usual.
Safe for everyone
Aletta® uses a near-infrared light and ultrasound to find the right vein, regardless of skin tones and body types. Aletta will only perform the puncture once a suitable vein is found.
Hygiene & Safety
Aletta® uses a new, sterile needle for every patient. The process is fully automated, with hospital staff always nearby to ensure everything goes well.
You're in control
You can choose between a blood draw by Aletta® or by a healthcare professional. Aletta guides you through each step so you know what to expect. You can pause or stop the process at any time.
How Aletta® works
If you participate in the A.D.O.P.T. trial and have your blood drawn by Aletta, a trained staff member will welcome you and help load a cartridge with tubes that collect your blood into the device.
Once you’re ready, you can take a seat and press Start to see the first instructions. Aletta will explain how to place your arm before the procedure, and will guide you step-by-step once the procedure starts. It uses near-infrared light and ultrasound to find the most suitable vein. This technology works well for all skin tones, body types, and even for veins that are difficult to locate manually.
The needle is prepared inside the device and is never visible to you, helping most people feel more at ease.
The blood draw happens automatically. You cannot see or feel the tubes being filled or changed. When the procedure is finished, Aletta gently removes the needle, applies a bandage, and stores the tubes in the device. A staff member is always nearby.
“Patients quickly gain confidence in Aletta because of the gentle and precise approach. What begins with curiosity or doubt often ends in trust. Seeing that shift in confidence is what makes my work so rewarding.”

I have difficult veins to find, normally I have to go through several attempts first left arm, then right arm, painful, often they pass my veins part to part, I bleed a lot and it is painful. With this robot it was a dream experience. No pain, no stress, perfect the first time. I will never do something different, if I can chose. I admire this machine, great progress. My father would have loved it.””
