Both are seasoned leaders in the MedTech industry, bringing decades of experience in scaling high-tech companies, driving innovation, and guiding businesses through critical phases. They have joined Vitestro's board alongside other industry leaders including Dr. Fred Moll, co-founder of Intuitive Surgical and Auris Health.

Dave Hickey: Expert in scaling healthcare globally


Dave Hickey joins Vitestro's board after a distinguished career in healthcare, most recently serving as Executive Vice President and President of BD’s Life Sciences Segment. With over 22 years of experience at Siemens and 10 years at BD, Dave brings a wealth of knowledge in specimen collection, diagnostics, and medical devices. During his time at BD, he successfully scaled operations in the US and led the development of numerous rapid and molecular diagnostic tests in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which supported healthcare providers and patients worldwide.

As Vitestro expands into the US market, Dave’s extensive knowledge in the specimen collection field and his leadership in launching innovative diagnostic solutions will be instrumental in shaping our next steps. His fresh perspective and deep industry expertise will be invaluable as we continue our mission to revolutionize phlebotomy with autonomous technology.

Sjaak Deckers: A proven leader in medical robotics


Sjaak Deckers also brings an impressive track record in leading MedTech companies. As the former CEO of Sapiens, he led the company through its successful acquisition by Medtronic. Sjaak also co-founded and served as CEO of GTX Medical (now Onward Medical), where he led the development of their Arc-Im product and the acquisition of NeuroRecovery Inc. He currently serves as a strategic advisor at Microsure, where he was formerly CEO, and is chairman of the supervisory boards at Triplemed and Haermonics.

Sjaak’s expertise in developing and scaling advanced medical robotics solutions aligns perfectly with Vitestro’s mission to transform blood collection into a more efficient, precise, and patient-friendly experience. His ability to guide companies through regulatory and operational challenges, combined with his extensive experience in medical robotics, will play a critical role in helping Vitestro bring its autonomous technology to market.
