Systems engineer

We are technology enthusiasts – looking for a mechatronics systems engineer who is equally passionate about developing a completely new robotics system.

At Vitestro we are developing a medical robotics device that has the potential to touch the lives of a billion patients. As we are treading down a path where not many people have ever gone before, we are looking for inventors who like to push boundaries…

Joining our hardware team, consisting of a systems architect, two system engineers and three mechanical engineers, you’ll design subsystems of our 6 degree of freedom robotics system. As a technical specialist you have the ability to overview the whole system as well as going into a high degree of technical detail.

 

Responsibilities

The following will be at the core of your responsibilities

 

  • Define the requirements and conceptual design of a subsystem
  • Initiate and execute small-scale technical and/or clinical experiments
  • Use a highly structured approach to convince the team of the feasibility of your design from a technical, clinical and business perspective
  • Supervise our mechanical design engineers to fabricate a detailed design
  • Test, verify and validate the design together with the mechanical engineer
  • Collaborate with suppliers to outsource parts of the design and development

 

Your profile

 

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar (Dutch equivalent WO)
  • 5+ year’s working experience in design and development of precision mechanics in the range of 0.1 -10 mm.
  • Experience with designing actuated (dynamic, moving) systems
  • Experience in detailed design, using CAD software
  • Full-time available

 

Desirable

 

  • Experience with (medical) robotics
  • Design and development of a proof of concept or prototype into (mass) production
  • Experience with collaborating and managing external suppliers
  • Experience with value engineering phase
  • Experience with the design of medical devices
